| A Matter of Time and Space |

| Everyone
has an artist friend; someone who'll normally never stop
talking about himself, although occasionally he may offer
up some genuinely interesting reflection. |
|
My
artist friend yesterday told me that he never went to
museums for the art, but only to certify that the floor
space is indeed poorly used, and that, yes, there exist
places larger than your shoebox of a flat. Such as places
that only are occupied, in greater or smaller measure,
by a green cardboard box, with a "Green cardboard
box in empty space" label pasted on the wall.
I’m not sure if that's what's happening at Centre d'Art
Santa Mónica, half monastery, half destroyed
airport, where my friend assures me that this weekend,
they'll be celebrating '24 hours of open hangar'.

hours, he tells me with amazement, in which we
can take advantage of the huge quantity of floor
space with loads of light, colour and multimedia
projections. Thing, in short, that - contrary
to your kitchen - may not even occupy real physical
space: we're nothing but excess and brashness.
A waste of space? Judge for yourself.
