air kisses, ego stroking and back stabbing, right? Not

The
lack of a proper high fashion scene in Barcelona - for
crying out loud, the fashion highlight is a dolled-up
tradeshow - has always kept things fairly, erm, accessible
(weren't tickets for the last 080
available for Internet download?) and grounded. Forget
about the catwalks, what counts here is the party.
That could definitely explain why Tela Magazine's
Fashion Freak is still around, whereas more self-important
events like Circuit and Pasarella Gaudi have stumbled.
With 'accreditations' freely available for
download and with as much attention bestowed on the
music and spectacle as on the fashion itself, nobody
can claim it's elitist.

In
fact, with the catwalks taking place in Razzmatazz
and ending well into the wee hours, the only real
point of similarity it will have with the 'proper'
fashion events, is that it'll truly be a
bitch getting a cab home after the show.
