Space Nobody Can Hear You Scream |

| Open
air cinemas; such a tease. Like al fresco nookie, they
carry the promise of some fun under the starry sky on
a summer’s night, but all you usually end up with
is a sore back and dirt on your pants. |
|
Every
year I try my best. I really do. I get out the picnic
blanket, put in some phone calls, pack a basket Martha
Stewart would be proud of, and arrive early to pick
a prime spot.
But then all these other people arrive. The beer and
wine make their way through my system and I have to
use the loo. Loo, here? Right. When I get back, the
blanket has mysteriously shrunk to half of its original
size, some kid has stepped in the humous, and who the
hell has eaten all my gummy bears? |

Calm
down. Shrug it off and lie down to try and get
comfortable. Oh, mushy spot. More humous, but
at least I’m lying down now. Comfy. Wait,
why are the people in front sitting up? Bugger.
At least I’ve already seen this one, who
needs to see the screen.
