Hello,
My Name Is... |
 |
 |
 |
Ever
since Espai Sucre opened, desserts have been serious business
in this town. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, though,
and in Operación Bikini mode, now is definitely
not the time to develop one. A drink to finish the meal,
however... |
 |
But
what's with those judgmental looks all around, half
expecting me to stand up and do the "Hello, my
name is... and I'm an.." routine? It's just a carajillo!
Strangely, however, there seems to be an if it's eaten
with a spoon, it's not a drink-mantra going on - I can
play that game, too.
Last year, Dolso had the right idea, introducing dessert
versions of gin & tonics, mojitos and cosmos, but
it's Dry Martini, where mixologist Javier de las Muelas
introduced his Spoon Martini range to great fanfare
earlier this month, that wins hands down.
|
 |
With
a bit of ingenuity, showmanship and PR magic,
they've managed to finally legitimize that student
fave, the vodka jelly. Tuck into the whisky sour
or the much acclaimed meat eating plant-flavoured
Spoon Martini jelly, and relive those good old
days.
