"No
way." That was when a friend of mine asked me to
come to and spend Saturday night at a cave. I have many
fond memories of nights spent at La
Cova club at Corbera, but these days the mere thought
of the trek there makes me feel very old. "But it's
a gong show", he protested. "I know", I
said. |
|
"At
Montserrat", he continued. Huh, not at Corbera
then? Just when did the monks and UFO-spotters
start clubbing? Turns out they didn't. This gong show
apparently involves actual gongs and has nothing to
do with Paz Padilla's TV
antics.
The caves of Salnitre at Montserrat are the setting
for the next two weekends of gongs, didgeroos and all
the rest of those instruments left over from someone's
round-the-world trek.
|
|
It
does smell a bit of water bong and new wave hippie,
but the acoustics should be spectacular, and the
setting is worth a trip by itself, with views
of the Med from the outdoor terrace. Now dig out
your hiking boots already.
