a Zoo Out There |

| Unlike
those whose definition of a big night out is merely that
the metro is not running by the time they get home, I've
never been one for doing things half-assed. If I remember
too much of it, the night can't have been that big.
I like to open the can and find what it says on the label. |

Sadly,
that kind of attitude will always set you up for let-downs.
Like when I went to the Gay Circus in July expecting
Siegfried & Roy, and instead got a bunch of oiled-up,
semi-naked acrobats, rubbing their glistening, muscled
bodies up against each other to a dramatic soundtrack.
They call that gay? So what to make of a place
called Zoologic?
Set in what used to be Miranda, the first of the gay
dinner-entertainment venues in town, it's had quite
a legacy to live up to. But rather than tone it down,
the foursome of Clónic Bionic have managed to
up what was already OTT. Think kitscher than Azúcar
Moreno in Marina d'Or. With a decent modern Mediterranean
cuisine. |

Open
since March, it's karaoke night every Wednesday,
while there's a dinner show on every Thursday
to Saturday. Tomorrow sees the premiere of the
new Horror Show. No animals were hurt in the making.
Or so they say.
