My
granddad always told me that there are girls that you
marry and girls that you, erm, have fun with. At which
point my grandma would sneer and declare that I didn't
look much like the marrying kind. |
|
Once
you're branded a tramp by your own grandmother, you
may as well reconsider any plans of marrying into a
superior lifestyle. Tone down your aspirations of Gstaad
and Vail to trips to La Molina. By Bus. Count yourself
lucky to land a lounger on Mar Bella beach - even if
it isn't that Costa Brava villa.
However, make your way out to Montjuïc and that
country house fantasy can still be lived out, for free,
at la Caseta del Migdia.
There, in a telecommunications shack abandoned after
the Olympics (watch out London 2012), they've
created a countryside feeling, a place where you'd
hang out with friends, complete with barbecues, sunset
concerts and hammock chill-out sessions. |
|
It's
now in its eighth year, and after hosting Bread
& Butter's closing shindig last year
it's hardly the secret it once was. But
rather than saying Bye
Bye Summer already, stretch out and make it
last until the end of the month when the winter
schedule kicks in.
La
Caseta del Migdia
Passeig del Migdia, Montjuïc
20.30-02.30h Thu-Fri; 10-02.30h Sat, 10.30-01h
