As
much as we continue to bemoan the end of summer, you
can almost hear a collective sigh of relief as the bikini
season takes a break until next year. Once again it's
possible to be photographed and breathe at the same
time. |
|
No
more fearing the consequences of eating dessert. No
more worrying that your bikini will magically disappear
into the crevasses of your love handles. Bring on the
pastries already!
Mey Hofmann, the gastro-entrepreneur behind the eponymously
named restaurant and cooking academy, must have heard
our cry. Having taken over the space of Italian delicatessen
Il Tinello, this week she's opening a patisserie in
El Born. I can already feel the first jitters from the
oncoming sugar rush.
|
|
With
nearby Born
Cooking shut (it now only sells those brownies
and that cheesecake wholesale), the timing
couldn't have been better. And if the sun decides
to come out again, well, I'll be waddling somewhere
indoors.
