Caravan's utilitarian good looks are bearing up well after two and a half years of heavy traffic, and it gets as packed as ever for breakfast and brunch (no bookings – beware). The chef/owner comes from New Zealand via the Providores, so this is comfort food with zing: avocado with chilli flakes on toast, baked eggs with chorizo, or cured salmon with wasabi dressing. These are served as small plates, but you won't necessarily want to share. The single-origin coffee is roasted daily in the basement.

Top Tip:

It gets noisy in here at the weekend, but the NZ vibe means it's never too hectic. The breakfast martini comes with a slice of sourdough toast and marmalade – so wholesome.

Brunch: Sat/Sun 10am–4pm.
