The Opus Hotel
Super stylized and extra personalized, with a quirky twist.
Much like the 'Roommate' brand hotels, who assign a fictional person to embody the distinct characteristics of their various properties, at Opus, you can choose from five 'lifestyle concierges' to determine what kind of places you might like to visit, what style of room you'll inhabit, and even what you'll be drinking at the in-house bar. So, figure out whether you're in cahoots with rockstar Billy and his 'artful and eclectic' green room, or more in tune with Dede, an actress who prefers the taupe 'daring and dramatic' spaces. This property is all about the fun, with stylish details like Frette bathrobes, L'Occitane amenities, Aquos televisions and Egyptian cotton sheets keeping it from descending into multi-coloured madness. The O Bar has become a bit of a nightlife scene in its own right, featuring 'O-Bites' and cocktails (both classic and themed) as well as glass walled bathrooms with live video feeds from the bar so you don't miss out on any action - we just hope the camera's don't work both ways.
Top Tip / UJ Loves: Sunday Jazz brunch featuring celebrated Canadian artists and casual French fare in the Elixir lounge. Reservations recommended.
“In Vancouver I like to stay at The Opus boutique hotel in the heart of Yaletown where there are a ton of great restaurants.”
