Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank, Cooking in Prison, Inner-City Sumo, Arm Wrestling with Chas and Dave, and of course the legendary Monkey Tennis. All programme ideas pitched by Alan Partridge as he tried (and failed) to secure his place on the nation's gogglebox. The question is: could you do any better than Monkey Tennis? |

If you think so, then you could find yourself being flown to New York, put up in a hotel and invited to schmooze and booze with loads of high-powered media luvvies, all courtesy of the New York Television Festival. The NYTF was established to pioneer the idea of 'independent television', and is currently conducting a grassroots search for writers, producers and directors to submit pilots for inclusion in the Festival this autumn. Both production companies and individuals can submit their work which will then be judged by a panel of TV cognoscenti. Successful applicants will have their pilot showcased in NYC in front of agents, executives and producers from all over the world. The early entry submission deadline is July 1st and the final submission deadline is August 1st, so break out the word processor and the DV camera and get cracking. Although, if I were you, I'd try not to involve Chris Eubank.
