East Dulwich is the new Westbourne Grove - or so those Mini'd-up devils down at Foxton's would have us believe! |
|||||||||||||
The reality is that East Dulwich consists of Lordship Lane - the longest road in the world - which houses more curry houses than Brick Lane, some decent gastro-pubs, and that trendy sweet shop which sells sweets in jars and according to The Observer is the best thing since, well, since they sold sweets in jars. And now there's Black Cherry, a style bar & restaurant, which according to the blurb brings "style and sophistication to South London". This will no doubt cause great excitement among the four million or so unwashed 'darn sarf'. Black Cherry promises a woman friendly environment (?!), sophisticated but not intrusive sounds, cocktails with names like Grande Royale, and dishes including leek and stilton tart - you know the sort of thing. If you live in Easy Dulwich this kind of locale is quite
welcome, but - like Westbourne Grove - it probably ain't worth travelling
for. |
