Today sees the launch of the third London Design Festival - a week long showcase for London's creative talents. It's YBD heaven. But let's face it: in the attention economy you're too time-poor to trawl through the 120-venue programme. So let us do the hard work - that's what you, er, pay us for. Right?

Clerkenwell's Zetter Restaurant (we like!) is showcasing ten Hidden Art (a membership cult offering access to original design) designer-makers, ranging from textiles to ceramics and glass. And Westbourne Grove's own Chair - the organic restaurant and store - hosts a range of sustainable design by up-and-coming young British designers, as well as special festival menu and a home store discount to boot. Cut to the chase: design is fine, but what we all want is a drink. So we hope we've handpicked the best of the bunch, but if it turns out you trekked from east-to-west or vice versa, and the art's in a small glass box and you've "appreciated" it in five minutes, treat yourself to a slap-up meal or a cocktail and call it "art education".
