Comeback Kid
It's a knock-out

Dover Street's gone all Billy Piper on us.

First it was fresh, then it became synonymous with libidinous old men and boozy nights out (we're talking, of course, not about Shoeless Joe's, because we really don't mention that kind of thing around here, but Dover Street Wine Bar. Flirty at 9.30? Fusty at fifty more apt.) Now, however, it's looking infinitely more consumable for its allegiance with bigger, glossier projects.

First up was the rise and rise of Dover Street Market. Then came Automat. And now, just next door, is Butterfly High - more skirty at thirty than thrifty at sixty. With valet parking, Swarovski crystal-adorned handpainted butterflies on the walls and rich, dark suede banquettes, it's a dedicated cocktail bar with a delicate drinks list. Think Elderflower Collins and lychee-tinis served over candlelight.

And for those of you still on the look out for old curiosities, you really are better advised to head for Paul Smith's nearby Albemarle Street emporium instead.

Butterfly High launch tonight, opens to public Thursday. 34 Dover Street, W1
