Remember when you were a kid and Sundays were the worst days of the week because you had to eat vegetables, and the only thing on telly was Last Of The Summer Wine? And then you got a bit older and Sunday was still rubbish because all the decent films were out at Blockbuster and the only thing on telly was repeats of Last Of The Summer Wine? |

Well, there's finally a new(ish) breed of Sunday events that may have it just right, for right now at least (we are still trying to steer clear of heavy Sundays for one more week). At the People Show Studios in Bethnal Green they're putting on a 'Sunday Morning Picture Show', complete with cinematic entertainment (shorts ease you into feature films), Bloody Mary's and the necessary sofas. And at the Sunday Night Supper Club at Caldesi restaurant, you can learn to cook and speak Italian from the pros, and when class is finished, get to eat your endeavours in the company of your fellow 'chefs'. However, if you're wondering what was wrong with Last Of The Summer Wine, well then we're afraid you may be beyond Sunday saving.
