One of the stupidest things you can possibly do in London is go to a food market on an empty stomach. You'll just end up hours later staring at half-a-dozen bags full of unidentifiable vegetables, shellfish which may or may not be alive, and a fancy loaf of bread that will go stale the minute you get it home (my weekend). |

Not with Celia though. TV chef Celia Brooks Brown will take you on a tour of Borough Market and carefully guide your nibbling, haggling, and sipping until you've got enough grub for the chef at the nearby Zakudia restaurant to whip you up a nice lunch. Celia also provides similar services for Portobello and Marylebone Village, but if it's something a little more glam you're after there's always the 'Shopping with Chef' courses at Pearl Restaurant & Bar. Here, for a slightly larger fee, the people who gave us Nobu will take you on a market tour, provide tastings and a quick cookery course. Plus they throw in a lesson on which wine to choose. Basically they do everything apart from cut your food up and then burp you at the end. Although, how long before someone comes along and offers that as well?
