Do you like movies? Do you like swimming? Do you like movies featuring people swimming?

Well then July is your lucky month because, as part of their centenary celebrations, Tooting Bec Lido is holding a 'a swimming pool film bonanza'.

What this means is a weekend mini-season of movies featuring swimming pools and swimming all projected on to a giant 'air-screen' in the garden beside the Lido.

The films on show include the cult 1968 classic The Swimmer, starring Burt Lancaster and the ultra-camp 1952 biopic Million Dollar Mermaid about legendary Australian swimmer Annette Kellerman, which features a Busby Berkeley synchronised swimming spectacular and a boxing kangaroo.

As a finale there's a whole day of surprise 'swimming shorts' courtesy of global film label Future Shorts who will be transforming the Lido into a 20s-style leisure complex complete with dance routines and ushers in swimming costumes.

And if boxing kangaroos and ushers in trunks weren't enough to entice you the ticket price also includes a swim in the fantastic 100 yard pool, and a celebratory Centenary drink. Bottoms up!

If you can't wait til the end of July, you could also check out London's 'first outdoor film festival', this weekend in Greenwich Park.
