Porn. What does it mean to you?

A quick hand shandy after a takeout before sleep. An afterparty late night treat a deux. Filthy, anti-feminist rubbish.

Personally, I'm not one for mainstream porn - who needs cheap shots when you've got an imagination?

Destricted previews at the Tate Modern, a film that set the Cannes tongues wagging. Featuring Sam Taylor Wood (well-lit but bland), Gaspar Noe (dark and subversive), Larry Clark (charming and sleazily real) and Marina Abramovic, Matthew Barney and peers, this charming sequence of vignettes provokes the question of where art and porn merges. Ticking a multitude of boxes, see it now before it goes on general release, and prep up for the dinner party talk of September.

Should you feel inspired, you can even try it at home. All you need is a camcorder, a body and, depending on which director you’re hoping to emulate, a blow up doll, a gun and a crying baby.

Way beyond your average skin flick.

Destricted - 6:30pm September 6, 9, 10, 12 and 13 at Tate Modern, Bankside, SE1
