Andreas Gursky
Gursky is one of those artists whose point is very clear. His enormous, hyper-real photographs seem to look down on us human beings and highlight the follies of our existence. He has two shows in town at present, which focus variously on North Korea, the Tour De France, and Japanese mines. See if you can tell which are digital and which aren't - the clues are there - but not in the resolution.

Living, Looking, Making
The world renowned Gagosian Gallery, in its vast space near King's Cross, puts on a heavyweight show of sculpture featuring four of the artform's finest practitioners of recent decades. Alberto Giacommetti's trademark spindly, sinuous figures are the highlight, here depicting avant-garde photographer Eli Lotar, and are complemented by works from Lucio Fontana, Richard Serra, and Cy Twombly - a must see exhibition. The works interact and inhabit the space well, accentuating their powerful presence.

Until May 19

The Gagosian Gallery, 6 Brittania St, N1

Camouflage
Q: What links cubist art, Maharishi clothing, Andy Warhol, Philip Treacy, and the 1968 Paris riots?
A: Camouflage. This symbol of war has been co-opted for decades by countercultural types across music, film, fashion, and art and this exhibition traces that journey. From its invention in 1915 by French "camofleurs", "disruptive pattern material", as it's properly known, has impacted far outside the battlefield. Ironically, camouflage, most of which was intended for forest, tundra, or desert just makes us stand out all the more in urban environments. Hmm.

Time:
10am-6pm Mon-Sun
Until November 18
Place:
Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, SE1
