Lets get the fatal flaw out of the way first so we can concentrate on the good - Huge platformed white fur shoes, exactly like those worn by a pantomime pony, will never enhance a collection.

Now the good news, some divine pieces in soft weightless fabrics including a great frosted lame- not too glitzy and not too stiff, some wonderful cire ( thats fabric with a waxed shined surface as though it has been polished and waxed) and some floating organdie and crepe.

The shapes manged very successfully to combine drape and volume without bulk in silhouettes which often featured terrific back details; for once leaving the room could be as effective as entering. Dresses especially had a timeless ageless appeal to them since away from the catwalk they could be layered or styling sexy and sheer. The shafts of neon pink against black and white and greige and palest silver were very effective but the huge folded and draped headpieces were a terrific balance to the proportions - they were pure historical but in a starnge timeless way creating Renaissance to Elizabethan echoes against the clothes.

The collection seemed a little lightweight in fabric and construction but with the mild spring we are having this year perhaps there will be beach days next December for the lightest of Berube frocks.
