This was a really, really good collection with a great balance of pieces,
strong items shown in differing combinations and a thorough understanding of
how to make commercial clothes and fashion without becoming dull or safe.
The show opened with a easy oatmeal coat which was followed by a classic yet undeniably modern little black dress thus setting the tone of clarity yet
inventiveness.
The divine - there is no other word for it - ivory sweater with a folded boat neck and stitch detail on the sleeves was teamed with a flirty skirt with a softly pleated back. A simple shift in print had layered sheer cap sleeves and a wonderful kite shaped seaming construction.
There was a really desirable cardigan with a double front edge forming a discrete
frill effect which was shown both in silver grey with black trousers and in
black with shrimp pink washed satin drainpipe trousers. A teal suit had the
surprise of shorts which were almost culottes with a tiny tuck detail at the
waist. Finally ethereal smock layers appeared to close what was a strong
show.
Lets hope the buyers and press get to feature masses of this collection because these sophisticated, yet relaxed and wearable clothes belong in a million womens wardrobes.
