Do the lights of Broadway sound more appealing than German architecture? This is your last chance to catch Broadway legend Elaine Stritch's Tony award-winning show at the Old Vic Theatre. Not only for The Ladies Who Lunch. Check availability here. | ||
Do you know who Mies
is? Even if you don't recall the name, you're probably familiar with his work. Mies van der Rohe has re-shaped skylines, sculpted suburbs, and revolutionised interior and urban spaces with his 'less is more' organic ethos. Considered to be one of the masters of 20th Century architecture, his simplistic mantra has created some of the most ambitious projects in Europe. Today, Whitechapel is offering you the chance to view his work and the work of those who inspired him (Frank Lloyd Wright and Peter Behrens, to name a few) in a laidback festive setting. Drawings, models, videos and photographs are the chosen mediums used to illustrate the juxtaposing themes in his work. You even have the opportunity to own a piece of genius as limited edition images of his work will be on the auction block. And if you didn’t know who Mies was when you arrived, you’ll definitely know him when you leave. TR |
