Let me guess, you've been meaning to go to the LaChapelle exhibition since the day it opened... um, so have I. Guilty as charged. So much talk, so little rock.

No more excuses. Get off the couch: this is your last chance to see the first British exhibition of the American surrealist cult photographer David LaChapelle.

Remember the Lolita-like photo of Britney Spears in her chintzy suburban bedroom surrounded by stuffed animals? That's David.

The bald Pamela Anderson, lying helpless on the pavement in front of an exploded Benz, with a nude young buck holding up her wig (or is it a Chihuahua) in horror? David again.

What about the fat lady trapped in a bubble on a deserted highway? Yep, him too.

LaChapelle's portfolio reads like Amy Sacco's guest list. From Madonna to Marilyn Manson, Elton to Lil' Kim, stars who should shun compromising position and bad camera angles trust this man with their (celebrity) lives. Bend over? Sure! Naked with a giant hot dog? Why not?

LaChapelle uses his trademark touch combining the kitsch with the surreal to create compelling, and provocative images. Love him or hate him, he has changed the nature of fashion and portrait photography over the last decade. Don't miss this show... if not for artistic merit, then to have something to chat about at your next, 'kill-me-soon-please' client Christmas party.
