Dear, oh dear

The 60s weren’t just a flash-in-the-pan Yankee fad.

Mod and Beatnik looks were all over London’s catwalks as well.

What are we to do?

Well, in preparation for next winter, I personally will be spending my clothing budget on a spot of liposuction so I can hump my chip-fed thighs into those blasted minis.

You won't catch me buying Marc Jacobs vintage shorts-all-in-ones-combo's, not when the markets and charity shops are full of the real McCoy. Now, it takes a certain talent and a special nose for fashion to sniff out the best vintage finds, but here are some suggestions of what to look out for.

The strongest trends so far include A-line mini shift-dresses; leather motorcycle jackets, preferably studded and zipped, mini-kilts and skin-tight scoop-neck dresses, a silhouette we thankfully haven't seen since the 90s.

Accessories are usually the easiest items to find, especially since you don't have to worry about fit. This weekend I'll be picking up an 80s patched leather drawstring pouch-bag - sure to be one of the sleeper trends of the season, opaque tights in lurid bright shades and anything, literally anything, orange.

Yes, I may look ridiculous and by next season (or even next week!) I may well cringe at the photos. But those Hoxton bitches will covet my duds as I sashay by and that, my dear readers, is the whole point of fashion.
