Cocktails
Go play the field

There's nothing a freelance fashion journalist loves more than a cheeky cocktail, preferably free!

It would be very easy for me to say that we at Urban Junkies are over cosmopolitans, but frankly we're not.

However that doesn't mean that a love affair with cocktails has to be a monogamous one.
So get out there and play the field.

Last night of Marly Maguire in 'A Night in November' at the Tricycle Theatre today.
The topical Terrorism opens tonight as part of the Royal Court Theatre's Focus Russia season. Bomb scares in a strange and fearful world. But oddly no gunslinging Texan cowboys in sight. 8pm. Sloane Sq, SW1. £15, £7.50 tonight. Box office 020 7565 5000.

My current big squeezes involve my two favourite ingredients: Champagne and Chambord (the raspberry liqueur that comes in a Vivienne Westwood-esque glass orb). Dan, the bar manager at 'The Social' on Little Portland St has given me the benefit of his drinks making experience, and provided the recipes for a right pair of tasty little numbers.

Luv Bubbles
Glass: sling (half fill with crushed ice)
1 x shot Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
1 x shot Stoli Vanilla Vodka
2 x shots pineapple juice

Shake the ingredients with ice, strain into the glass and top up with champagne, and garnish with fresh raspberries.

If that's gotten you a bit frisky you could be more adventurous and invite your friends over for an alcohol orgy. A punch is a community cocktail and should be enjoyed in good company.

Diamond Punch
Small punch bowl
2 x bottles champagne
½ cup Chambord
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup lemon and limejuice

Mix the first ingredients together in a small punch bowl; add moulded ice ring or ice block. Frozen juice works well in this recipe, and you can add sherbet for a bit of extra sparkle. Garnish with fresh raspberries.

Just remember to only drink these out of an incredibly stylish drinking vessel. It's all about the attention to detail!
