Playful in Hammersmith
Play at home, too.
W6 should feel very smug.

Riverside Studios, on Crisp Road, has somehow managed to import the most talked about "play" in international theatre.

XXX is not for the faint of heart. The seriously-explicit production, from Barcelona's notorious experimental theatre group La Fura dels Baus, is adapted from the Marquis de Sade's Philosophy of the Bedroom where a young woman is sexually pushed to the outer limits - both willingly and by force.

But even the Marquis might balk at XXX. Many have called it pornography, and though it has made the tours of most European cities, no one expected that the "No sex please, we're British" public would ever allow a play like this to cross its boards.

Though most of the more explicit scenes are accomplished with tricks and mirrors - and a team of real porno professionals performing the more, ahem, acrobatic antics - this is still a production that will leave you feeling icky in the morning.

So book your tickets now, as this is sure to be one of the most talked about theatre events to hit London in a decade. But, really, don't bring your Nan. Even if it is her birthday.
