Is it a boat? Is it a bus? No! It's Frog Tours... If you've ever stood on the embankment and seen a rather strange looking boat/bus thing chugging along you might well wonder what drugs you'd taken last night. |

And then when it drives up the beach, and alongside the MI6 building well, you might think you've just witnessed the test run of a secret government machine. Alas, no. You have, however just been introduced to the world of Frog Tours. Now, I do admit, this is more of a tourist thing for such savvy urban dwellers like ourselves... but the boys we've polled have all been quite taken with this idea. Your 70 minute trip departs on land from County Hall, and takes you past the usual sights of our fair city (Westminster, The Ritz, Buckingham Palace and so on) before plunging into the Thames on the south side of Vauxhall Bridge (just by the MI6 building). The "Frogs" are actually converted "DUKWS", which were first used for the D-Day landings - obviously they weren't bright yellow in those days. Each "Frog" seats 30 people, and they've been fitted with environment friendly engines, which obviously the fish are ecstatic about - if there are any in there. Frog Tours, www.frogtours.com HH |
