One sure-fire way round this conundrum is visiting Regent's Park Open Air Theatre - where, by definition, there is no ceiling. Today sees the launch of its summer season, with shows including A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Two Gentlemen of Verona and High Society. The great thing about this theatre is that - should the play drag - there's so much more to enjoy: the gradual descent of dusk's cloak, the wildlife (insect repellant recommended) and, ideally, a hearty, alcohol-based, sleep-inducing picnic before you sit down.
