Head out for some jazz at lunchtime if the sky stays dry. The Jazz Plus programme puts on free music in the open every Tuesday and Thursday in June. 12:30pm-2pm. Victoria Embankment Gardens, Villiers Street, WC2. Free. 020 7375 0441. | |||
The event plays host to over 30 of the top fashion and textile colleges in the UK, featuring a static exhibition, non-stop fashion shows and a glitzy Gala Awards event on Thursday night. Leading brands including Donna Karan, Gucci and Calvin Klein have been known to snap up grads, from all disciplines - design, illustration, merchandising, buying PR - from this show. Previous winners have gone on to become international bigwigs - including Chris Bailey, who became Tom Ford's number two at Gucci post graduation. Graduate Fashion Week, sponsored by Top Shop, is totally unique as no other country in the world invests in fashion graduates on this scale. So support them and see if you can spot a rising star.
