How many degrees of separation are you from Kev?

Supposedly we are only six degrees of separation from everyone else on Earth.

But how far are you from your next shag or soulmate?

The impressive Winthrop Collection is on loan to the National Gallery and opens today. See Blake, Renoir, Ingres and other 19th century masters. 10am-9pm. Trafalgar Sq, WC2. £1.50-7.
AKA turns 5 with a bash well into the early hours on a school night. 10pm-4am. 18 West Central St, WC1. £7.

Originally conceived as a way of introducing friends to friends, Friendster is rumoured to be the best aphrodisiac since alcohol.

The invitation-only site is the Internet equivalent of the ultimate house party. Once invited, subscribers post their profiles and are free to invite new subscribers - building up an online circle of friends. They are then free to browse other subscribers' profiles, up to three degrees away.

The concept is proving very popular. In less than four months, Friendster has grown to over 300,000 users and many who've been reluctant to try conventional dating sites (the shame, not being allowed to talk to strangers, etc) are more comfortable surfing Friendster since there is a whole bridge of acquaintances between you.

But, just like in the real world, there are always problems associated with introducing people. Do you really want the world to know about the sorry state of your social circle?
