Yum Yum Dim Sum
No nasty surprises expected at Will Ricker's newest

Let's face it. It was about time someone opened a restaurant worth mentioning on the King's Road, and next Thursday's the night.

Eight over Eight is the latest venture from Will Ricker (he of Great Eastern Dining Room/E&O fame) and lucky old SW3, land of the highlighted blonde and rebellious boys with their shirts out, is the place to get the treatment.

At Eight over Eight (lucky forever, according to Chinese proverbs), diners
are encouraged to share their food, which promises to be an easy task with such a wide range of dim sum and a menu influenced primarily by South-East Asia and China. Chilli-salt squid, pork spare ribs, steamed ginger scallops sound yummy, and vegetarians aren't forgotten with such delights as wild mushroom gow gees (dumplings darling).

With a minimalist but comfortable interior, booths offer room for intimacy
and an Oriental-style bamboo screen separates the restaurant and bar.

Eight over Eight (website not up yet) - Opens Thursday July 3
