The Bookshop Gallery at the National Gallery is currently showing photos by leading music photographer Chris Lopez. The images capture the character of the world's best DJs away from the decks. The twenty portraits on display represent just a tiny selection of his vast music photography collection. DJs portrayed make up a Who's Who of turntable maestros and include Fat Boy Slim, Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez and Tim Deluxe. The photos are very personal and really capture the human element and personality of the subject. However, in some cases you finally understand why these people are usually kept well of out sight from the club-goers. You wouldn't want people to think that they're having a bad trip. The exhibition runs from today until September 28 and if you want to have the pictures for keeps, there's also a book out which accompanies the show. DJs by Chris Lopez July 7-September 28, 2003 RP |
