Smell away

You can often smell interesting aromas around clubland.

The sweat of over-excitable ravers, poppers fumes or indeed tear gas, if things get a little out of hand.

However, the new Scent night @ Firehouse offers a far more pleasant fragrance.

Graffiti artist and visual stunner Banksy reveals his Turf War to the public today. 10am-6pm. 479-483 Kingsland Road, E8. Free.
Screaming queens and baritone boyz at the RFH as the London Gay Men's Chorus serve up another fabulous show. 7:45pm. Belvedere Rd, SE1. £20 (£30 with drink and CD) 020 7960 4242 or online.

Set in a three-storey Georgian Townhouse in Chelsea (which always makes for a good party venue), Scent is brought to you by the folks who re-launched the Kensington Roof Gardens.

The Restaurant on the first floor not only provides modestly priced but generously flavoured nosh with the set menu at £23 for two courses but also a powerful vista of the nearby Natural History Museum, completely free.

If you are in a more antipodean mood, you can recreate the splendour of the Robinsons' garden in Neighbours as you get your snags torched at the outdoor Barbeque Lounge. But unlike the Robinsons', there is also a bar with the only 3am licence in Chelsea and Kensington.

So running with the whole smell analogy, enjoy, "The aroma of a sizzling barbeque, the aroma of a fine wine, the perfume of passion and the aroma of lust." But just remember that all this often leads to the vile stench of dirty sheets.

Scent every Saturday @ Firehouse 9pm-3am
