The Truth Will Set You Free
Loosen the ties, loose the tongue

The truth will set you free? I don't think so!

Anyone over the age of three fast figures out how important those little white lies are (not to mention those big fat ones that get you out of trouble).

European premiere of The System from British Wayne Saunders as part of the Black Film Festival at ICA. 8:30pm. The Mall, SW1. £6.50.

I, personally, can get through the day without a good fib. Who hasn't said the tube was late, it isn't you, it's me, or casually claimed to be a Chilean princess. (Okay, maybe that's just me, but the wanker believed me.)

A new invention, from Agile Mobile, strikes fear into even the most confident talespinner. The devise, designed for advanced smart phones, will be able to measure stress caused by lying in a caller's voice. It then displays the information via a graph on the user's mobile screen.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope this brilliant little devise never makes it to mass market. Never mind that unemployment rates will rise to untold levels when bosses find out just how much we employees take the piss, this portable lie detector could spell the end of civilization.

Without those sweet little lies to placate us, men would never get girls into bed, fat birds would know just how big their bum looked, and the battle of the sexes would surely escalate to mass violence. Dangerous stuff, technology...

Lie Detector from Agile Mobile - available September 15
