Egg, the labour of love of London's most successful club promoter, Laurence Malice, was finally launched in April. It is already acknowledged to be one of the most innovative clubs winning the BEDA (British Dance and Entertainment Association) for Best UK Club. Egg is going from strength to strength. The outside may be Victorian but inside there is a definite Ibizan feel. The second floor which opens onto a large terrace complete with bar. Anyone familiar with the legendary 'Trade' nights at Turnmills will know that Malice always has the music sorted. Egg delivers. The monthly rotation is big on variety blending DJ sets and live performances, House with Hip Hop. Long-term plans include a giant domed oval to encompass the roof terraces as well contemporary and performance art exhibitions. Definitely ambitious, but judging by the first six months certainly possible. Egg, 200 York Way, N7 CB |
