It was the 1960s and the Conservative Secretary of State for War John Profumo and stunning showgirl Christine Keeler had an affair that rocked the nation. Goodbye straight-laced 50s, hello swingin' 60s. There are lots we don't know about their affair (some suspect it was a guise to cover up an Anglo-Soviet spy ring), but we do know their glamorous clandestine rendezvous location: The Eve club. The place to be in the 50s and 60s, the club was frequented by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland and rumoured to be a meeting point for the MI5 and KGB. Intrigued? Then you're in luck, 'cause the new Eve Club is about to open its doors for business. Inside you'll find nightclub kitsch with a sophisticated flavour. Décor highlights include an ice sculptured bar, glass dance floor and VIP Garden of Eden with a real apple tree. Throw pillows, low tables and intimate lights make this the perfect den for seduction. Spice up your life and seek out a scandal, after all, why shy away from temptation? Tonight, courtesy of Global Guest list, Urban Junkies readers can attend a sneak preview evening (complete with complimentary cocktails from 8-10pm) of this exclusive venue. Email us for a place on the guest list. First come, first serve. The Eve Club - Official opening October 18, sneak preview tonight TR |
