Art-Fest
Wipe off any haughty arty pretenses this weekend. Untitled by Terence Bond.

OK, I have a confession.

It seems that I'm one of those superficial, fickle journalists who constantly contradict themselves.

Earlier this week, I loudly proclaimed fashion was the new art and today, thanks to agnès b, it's the other way round.

We have Ben Watt Buzzin' Fly VIP passes for the first four readers who by email can tell us the name of the first release on the Buzzin' Fly record label by Ben Watt himself. The coveted VIP passes give Plus One free entry to the fortnightly Buzzin' Fly nights at Notting Hill Neighbourhood.

While scores of fashion designers are launching exhibitions, the French designer is going one better and getting her own art gallery.

This year, agnès b joins Habitat founder, Terence Conran, as a patron to F-EST - the East End Visual Arts Festival. Her 'Galerie du Jour' will occupy a temporary space at the Tea Building in London especially for the F-EST weekend, and she will also be mounting a retrospective of her publication 'Point d'Ironie' art project at the Great Eastern Hotel.

Among the 80 other museums and galleries opening their doors and arranging special events for the F-EST weekend are Andrew Mummery, Chisenhale Gallery, Flowers East, Matt's Gallery, Maureen Paley, the Nunnery, Rhodes + Mann, Victoria Miro, Wapping Project, White Cube and the Whitechapel Art Gallery.

Meanwhile I shall wait and see if the creative pendulum swings back towards fashion next week. I'll be sure to let you all know.
