2003 may have been big on the members club, but this year, the only organisation we're gagging to join is Mensa. Sure, the entrance requirements are pretty stiff (you have to be in the top two percent of the population) but, with celebrities like Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, Steve Martin, Geena Davis and James Wood all card-carrying members, a Mensa gathering is guaranteed to be a tad more stimulating than an evening at Soho House. Mensa only invites the best of the brainiacs into the fold, and unfortunately they don't take your word for it. Surprisingly, your mother's assertions that you are indeed very bright don't count for much either. A certified IQ test is required, but rest assured that 1 in 50 people have an IQ that makes them eligible to join Mensa. And heck, if you don't make the cut, there's always the Groucho Club. |
