Launched by three ex-Sleazenation coolcats, sss is a den for fashionistas, Kashpoint kids, nu wave artists and urban hoodrats. The Victorian cornershop space has been transformed into an urban art boutique decked out in Studio 54-esque style on a dusty old road in the middle of nowhere. How fashion fabulous! The shop sells one-off clothes by the likes of Noki, Von Dutch, Stüssy, Zowie, Lady Wheeler of Dalston, Baby Phat and Julian and Sophie. The windows are blacked out sex-shop style with gaffa tape, there's a pole dancing pole centreplace, a huge giant zombie-bear in the corner and even a friendly bouncer on the door. "It's The Factory for the 21st Century," says fashion designer Roland Mouret. And he's not wrong, currently the store is housing an exhibition called Mirror Mirror on the Wall featuring self portraits by style icons on Stella Artois draught barrels. Sounds weird? It is - but that's why you should check it out. |
