Live art installation 'Ha Loo Sin Nation' by London based artist Seb Patane combines performance art with music in a special one-off show tonight. Patane, more widely known for his cult art/electro club night NERD, was pushing what he christened 'synthcore' (later coined 'electroclash' by the media) when most Shoreditchites were still dancing to ironic country music at 333. |

Patane has worked as an artist and DJ since coming to London from Sicily in the mid-Nineties and allows each to feed off the other. The installation will incorporate Patane's interest in urban mythology, altered states of being, surreal narration and electronic music as an artistic tool, through references to electro poise and angry youth. The music will be a specially commissioned piece performed from the laptop of Italian electronic performer Loozoo. If you never made it to NERD in its formative stages (when hip artists such as Wolfgang Tillmans and Gillian Wearing were DJing) tonight is your chance to experince a taste of what you missed out on as a special NERD one-off event will follow after the show at the Electricity Showrooms with resident Nerd Djs and special guests. |
