Despite a room to accommodate online publications, CMYK - named after the colour scheme used in print (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK) - is a forum dedicated to the issues of relevance to über-cool paper publications. Most of the vanguard, including i-D, AdBusters and This is A Magazine, will be in attendance, whereas the more commercial mags seem to have been passed over. After all, this is a world which, if at all, compensates in masthead credits, canapés and sample-sized wares. It remains to be seen, however, how many of these titles will survive. The Face seems set for resuscitation by loaded i-bankers in need of a hobby, but in this Internet age, many trend magazines seem outdated by the time the ink has dried. |
