Snoozing football divas as art, fashion folk as actors, artists as set designers. What is happening to art today? Just a day after Sam Taylor Wood's 'film' of the England captain was unveiled as art at the National Portrait Gallery, Timothy Ackroyd opens the infamous play Les Parents Terribles at the Jermyn Street Theatre starring Rocky Mazzilli. |

Of course, if 67 minutes of Becks snoozing (sans texting, although there is an occasional nipple flash) can pass as art, I suppose there's no harm in casting Rocky for Cocteau's dark comedy about an incestuous, bourgeois family. He still has his toes wet with fashion - the family now runs a Voyage label - but presumably wants to try his hand at acting to round out his renaissance Euro-flash reputation. |
