Gail Downey, knitwear designer for John Galliano from his first collection until 1989, is auctioning off her beloved Galliano collection to fund her new label Weardowney and its new boutique. |

A good cause is the perfect excuse to buy some "investment" clothing so get down to Weardowney to check out the collection. The auction includes 14 vintage John Galliano pieces including the Eagle print dress from 1986's 'Ludicgame' collection, a black peacoat (one of six ever made), a hand knitted smock and a hand knitted garden plot sweater. All the clothing is available to view at the new Weardowney boutique where potential bidders are encouraged to try the pieces on - Gail wants the clothes to find loving new homes. Every couple of weeks the highest bid will be posted on the Weardowney website. This will continue until London Fashion Week when the bidding will end with a Weardowney show. |
