The British Museum's new hi tech Mummy show opens. 10am-8:30pm. Gt Russell St WC1. £6. 020 7323 8181.

Rapidly emerging irritatingly justified pretentious NY cool Stellastarr do Garage. 8pm. 20-22 Highbury Corner, N5. £10. 0870 154 4040 or here.

Couch potatoes can recline in style on comfy sofa seats and those who fancy a tipple at the flicks can happily sip away.

The Everyman is situated in the heart of Hampstead and is one of London's longest running independent cinemas. The focus here is firmly on films and, unlike Notting Hill's overly exclusive Electric Cinema, there is no membership policy. Prices for the second screen will stay the same as for all other screenings, an affordable nine pounds.

Film buffs, families and fashionistas can look forward to the ultimate cutting edge cinema experience with a welcome social twist. The stylish lounge area is fully licensed and makes the perfect place to chill out and celeb spot before and after the performance.
