Shining City - Now extended until August 7
Welcome another designer hopeful

You wouldn't ask a plumber to fix your teeth now would you? But more and more people seem willing to hand over serious wads of cash for clothing 'designed' by celebs/musicians.

The latest is Pharrell Williams' Billionaire Boys Club line, which should be hitting our fair shores any day now.

Czech Philharmonic Chorus of Brno and the LPO hitch up for the Beeb's Proms season at Royal Albert Hall. 7pm. Kensington Gore, SW7. £6-23. 020 7589 8212 or online.

Notting Hill Arts Club's Death Disco sees celeb kid Rolan Bolan joined by pop whiners Fancy Dress. 8pm-1am. 21 Notting Hill Gate, W11. £5.

Details are sketchy, but expect a bit of bling and the usual logoed Ts and outsize 'streetwear', especially since Williams is collaborating with cult Japanese brand A Bathing Ape and sportswear giant Reebok.

Fashionistas may scoff, but celebrity backed lines are serious business. P Diddy's Sean John brand scooped the Designer of the Year award in the USA this year, and has a turnover large enough to make even the giant Italian brands sit up and take notice.

Take advantage of the many Edinburgh Fringe previews in town: Jimmy Carr and Robin Ince unlikely to disappoint at Lowdown at the Albany. 8pm 240 Great Portland Street, W1. £7. 020 7387 5706.

Damon Dash's Roc-A-Wear line is similarly ubiquitous, while Beyoncé is also about to launch a range of clothing, which, one imagines, if it's modelled on her stage outfits, will be highly profitable since fabric costs at least will be negligible!

Saying that, look out for the New Urban Junkies Couture collection - coming soon.
