Cutting it in Canary Wharf

Wednesdays are rarely good. Deep in the middle of the week, there are still two more days to go before a proper lie in. While some may feel it is a great night for a spot of laundry and some cosying up on the couch, we at UJ believe it is the best night to boogie.

A few brave boys from the City have made a valiant attempt to revive Islington on the worst night of the week. After a 10 year sabbatical, the Funky Love Vibrations are back. Concentrating on London house, funk and jazz, the group comprises of a selection of suit-by-day, DJ-by-night types. While we'd usually scoff at such banker antics, we've got to admit, these guys put on one of the best midweek parties in town.

Held at the newly-opened Anam, off Chapel Market, the night has already begun to attract a celebrity crowd. Hazel Robinson, one half of the former team behind fashion label House of Jazz, was recently spotted shimmying with the suited and booted.
