Have you ever been walking around Shoreditch and seen a small, but perfectly formed house sitting against the East London skyline on some rickety wooden stilts? If you have, then you've either drank far too much absinthe or you've been witness to the house that Intact built. |

Intact are London's freelance urban regenerators. Like a guerrilla version of Changing Rooms, but with better taste. The Shoreditch house used to be an unused signal box until the group turned it into a scaled-down country cottage, with whitewashed walls, artificial geraniums and even a barbeque for entertaining. Unsurprisingly the authorities didn't approve of Intact's beautification and decided to undo all their good work. They even had the cheek to nick the barbeque. This weekend Intact are set to return to Shoreditch for a spot of renovation; and this time they plan to enclose the whole thing in a protective, transparent bubble. |
