Get on board at Apart

I've never found skateboarding to be particularly rousing, but the new INSPIRED exhibition at APART on Portobello Road seeks to challenge my disinterest.

Vintage outrage & shock at The Hospital's PUNK: A True and Dirty Tale. 10am-6pm. 24 Endell St, WC2. £6. 0870 154 4040 or online.

While I prefer a life of sofa-bound inertia to tearing up the sidewalks of London on a bit of bent wood, the organisers have invited a collective of assorted creative types to showcase work highlighting the influence skateboarding has had on them.

Contributors, including usual suspects Jamie Hewlitt and Maharishi along with restaurateur Mourad Mazouz (Momo's and Sketch) and The Audio Bully's, have each been given a skate board to do with as they wish. Besides ride it of course.

Swedish artist, Emelie Salford, has glued a pair of pink stilettos to hers, which should help to banish my mental association of skating with glamour-allergic dysfunctional American teens.
