Well then, how about Tropicana, the new show by one of Britain’s brightest and most innovative theatre companies, Shunt. This will almost certainly be one of the most bizarre theatrical evenings that you'll ever experience. Staged in a creepy 70,000 sq ft labyrinth of long-since abandoned railway arches, from the moment you enter the space (Narnia-style, through a closet door) it's very clear that this is a different kind of show. |

Black celebration here there everywhere: Fela Kuti party with fierce Nu Yorkers Femm Nameless @Cargo 8pm-3am 83 Rivington St, EC2. £10. |
||||
Angel Moving Image Festival is on @Candid Arts Trust. 2-9pm. 3 Torrens St, EC1. £2. |

Expect to encounter people who smash pineapples, dance with stuffed dogs, perform live autopsies and execute erotic trapeze acts on the rooftop of a nearby hearse. The fact that the show is licensed and begins and ends beside two separate bars certainly doesn’t hurt the cause either. So not your average night out then. I almost dare you to take a first date.
