Shopping is far too often regarded as a sinful occupation, the ultimate indulgent cure for a broken heart, bruised ego or boring life.

Leftfield electronica jazz at Spitz: Spring Heel Jack joins The Electric Dr M at Spitz. 8pm. 109 Commercial St E1. £10. 020 7392 9032 or here.

Last week for the sculptures by Tim Lewis @Flowers East, Salcedo and Ortega at White Cube, and the not so Dumb Show at Royal Court.

Every girl has a section of their wardrobe bulging with those impulse buys made in a haze of emotion or alcohol, that when viewed in the cold light of day prove to be a serious fashion faux pas.

Now there is a chance to redeem those rash buys at the launch of The Great Clothes Swap. All you need to take part is a handful of items in good condition that for whatever reason you will never wear again.

Obscure items, one-off's and vintage threads are all warmly welcome, but I would advise leaving those shell-suits in the attic where they belong.
